Where Preschool Creativity Can Lead

Leanne was recently delighted to see this vibrant and welcoming mosaic mural at Bellevue Hill Preschool in Hillside...

A number of years ago a local ceramic artist was commissioned to work with the children attending in that particular year, and together they created this glorious design.

Preschool co-ordinator Irena said the children had a marvelous time sculpting leaves and hands from clay, and writing their names on their pieces, then helping with the overall mosaic design.  The grown children and families continue to return to this day and look at the artwork with fond memories - and what a wonderful inspiration to all the children who've attended Bellevue Hill Preschool since then.

Who knows where these early creative experiences will lead.... perhaps somewhere like Deborah Halpern's Ophelia at Southbank...

Hats off to all the shire councils and arts organisations who provide funding for such culturally rich activities, may there be more of it!
